Changelog
All notable changes to Proto ColorGen, newest first.
v2.0.0
Companion tools
- Two new tools alongside the palette generator. A UV Checker and a prototype grid texture generator, sharing the app's workspace, undo stack and export button — the three things a blockout needs, in one place.
- Texture presets. Checker and grid setups save under a name, per tool, so a house checker is one click away instead of twelve sliders.
- Rebuilt export dialog. A live preview of the actual texture, strip or square layouts, and swatch sizes that match what the Blender add-on writes. Duplicate colors are called out before you export, because Blender's import merges them.
- Share links for every tool. The link carries the whole setup — palette plus generator settings, or a complete texture configuration.
- Color-blindness checking with a fix. Four simulated vision types, flagged conflicting pairs, and a button that pushes them apart while leaving locked colors alone.
- Wider palette import.
.aseand.acoswatch files and more image formats, matching what Proto Color itself reads.
v1.0.0
Initial release
- Palette generator. Seven harmony algorithms including stepped color ramps, up to eight lockable seed colors, and live sliders for count, spread, variation, saturation and lightness.
- Fourteen mood presets. Each one seeds and constrains the randomizer, so re-rolling a mood stays inside it.
- Palettes from artwork. Drop in an image and get its colors — read literally when it's a palette strip, extracted when it's a photo or a screenshot.
- Export to PNG, JSON, SVG, HEX, GPL and CSS, with PNG and JSON landing directly in the PROTO:COLOR Blender add-on.
